Placing Your Order
We can take orders over the internet via our secure server, by mail (3428 Sansom St. Philadelphia, PA 19104) or fax (215-386-2080) using our printable order form, or by phone (215-386-6664). If you want to place an order by phone and we happen to be busy in the store, please be patient. We will get back to you. If you have fax transmission problems and need to refax an order, please mark on it "duplicate."

Payment
For on-line orders, we accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover. Customers using our printable order form can pay by credit card, money order, The Black Cat Gift Certificate or personal check. (Allow an additional 3 - 5 business days to process personal checks.) For gift certificate redemption, original certificate must be mailed in with printable order form.

7% sales tax for orders with in Philadelphia and 6% sales tax in PA but outside of Philadelphia will be added to applicable orders. Clothing and food items are not taxed.

All orders are shipped out via UPS with in 4 business days (longer near holidays). Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico require express delivery. International orders need to call for special shipping requirements. Sorry, we can not ship to APO/FPO addresses or PO Boxes.

Express shipping is available for an additional $10 per $50 of merchandise.

It's our policy to always seek alternatives to purchasing new packing material. We reuse and recycle what we receive from others and urge you to reuse and recycle what you receive from us.

Returns or Damages
We gladly accept returns for any reason. Merchandise can be exchanged for a comparable item, store credit or a refund. Please let us know why you are returning the item and be sure to include any storycards that accompanied the product. If the product was a set or required assembly, please include the total number of pieces it was shipped to you with.

If merchandise arrives damaged, please call us immediately at (215)386-6664. We will have UPS return to pick up the merchandise at no charge to you and send out a replacement order.

Splitting Orders
We are unable to split orders. If you would like to have items shipped to different addresses, please place separate orders.

Gift Wrapping
We will gladly gift wrap any order free of charge. Our gift wrap packaging is a natural brown craft paper box with natural black cat tissue paper inside, decoratively tied with black cat paper ribbon -- all of which are made from recycled paper. We can also include a message of up to 10 words on a gift card. Gift Certificates will be presented in an envelope with a short message of your choice.

Small Print
Because much of our merchandise comes to us from small businesses and artisan cooperatives, some of which are located in developing countries, occasionally some items may become unexpectedly unavailable. Please allow us to be patient with these start-ups while they work through the delays. We will notify you of the status of the product.

The Black Cat is a member of the Craft Center and a friend of the Fair Trade Federation.

Pricing available on-line may not be available in our store.

Customers ordering through The Black Cat are entitled to a free subscription to Tales from the White Dog Cafe, our tri-annual newsletter. If you do not wish to receive it or are already on our mailing list, please indicate so on your order form. We sometimes will share our mailing list with other like-minded organizations. If you do not want us to share your address, please email us your address as it appears on your newsletter with a note. Thank you.
